Celebrating 90 Years of Marlborough

2026 marks a special milestone in the history of Marlborough Primary School as we proudly celebrate our 90th anniversary.

Since opening our doors in 1936, Marlborough has been at the heart of the local community, supporting generations of children and families. For nine decades, our school has provided a caring, inclusive and inspiring environment where children are encouraged to thrive, build lasting friendships and develop the skills and values they need for life.

Throughout this anniversary year, we will be celebrating Marlborough’s rich history, the people who have shaped our school and the exciting future ahead.

90th Anniversary Celebration Day – Monday 29th June 2026

On Monday 29th June 2026, pupils and staff will take part in a full day of special activities to celebrate this important occasion.

The day will include:

A visit to the Marlborough Museum in Emerald Class
A special assembly featuring guest speakers sharing memories and experiences of Marlborough through the years
A celebratory lunch provided by Olive Dining
Class activities exploring the history of our school
The creation of a school time capsule for future generations
An opportunity for all pupils to contribute to a brand-new Marlborough mural

We are incredibly excited to mark this historic moment together as a school community.

Anniversary Community Picnic

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our school community to the 90th Anniversary Community Picnic following our school celebration day on Monday 29th June 2026.

This special event will bring together current families, former pupils, staff, governors, and members of the wider community to celebrate 90 years of our school.

Families are warmly invited to bring a picnic and enjoy an afternoon together on the school field.

Date: Monday 29th June 2026
Time: 3:30pm – 5:00pm
Venue: School Field
Please bring: A picnic and a blanket

There will also be the opportunity to purchase drinks, popcorn, croissants and scones on the day.

Our School Choir will be performing at 4:00pm, so do join us for this special highlight of the afternoon.

We very much look forward to celebrating this milestone together as a school community.

90th Anniversary Commemorative Video – Now Available to Watch

We are delighted to share our 90th Anniversary Commemorative Video.

Thank you to all families who gave permission for their children to take part. We were thrilled by the response and proud to include so many pupils in this commemorative project.

This is the first in a series of anniversary videos that will be created throughout the year. Further year group videos will follow and will be added to the website as they become available.

Pond Redevelopment Project

As part of our 90th anniversary year, we are continuing the redevelopment of our pond area to create an enhanced outdoor learning environment for all pupils.

This exciting project will:

Improve opportunities for outdoor learning
Support biodiversity and environmental education
Create a calm and reflective space for pupils
Enrich children’s experiences beyond the classroom

The redevelopment reflects our commitment to providing engaging and inspiring learning opportunities for both current and future generations of Marlborough pupils.
