Online Safety

We acknowledge the benefits of online digital technology and what they bring to learning however there are also many risks. We take responsibility to educate our pupils to stay safe when operating within online environments and work in partnership with parents to ensure the same approach at home. 

Online safety is embedded within both the Computing and PSHE curriculum revisited throughout each school year to ensure children know and think about what they are being exposed to. Children make use of various platforms, therefore their needs in terms of online safety can be very different; as well as communications sent home.

At Marlborough Primary School, we are committed to promoting online safety and equipping our pupils with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world responsibly. Safer Internet Day was a fantastic opportunity for our children to engage in discussions, activities, and lessons about staying safe online.

BBC Live Lesson

All Key Stage 2 (KS2) children participated in the BBC Safer Internet Live Lesson. This engaging session provided valuable insights into online safety, responsible internet use, and digital well-being. If you missed it, you can watch it back here:

Classroom Discussions

Children across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and KS2 took part in engaging discussions based on real-life online safety scenarios. These sessions, supported by KS1 and KS2 PowerPoint presentations, encouraged pupils to think critically about their digital choices and how to stay safe online.
